Every Boy looks back at a time when becoming a hero required little more than imagination. A mask, a towel tied around the shoulders, or a favorite character on television could transform an ordinary afternoon into an adventure.

The painting celebrates the private worlds children create for themselves—places where they can be fearless, powerful, and capable of anything. Before the world begins to define who a boy should be, he is free to imagine who he might become.

At its heart, Every Boy is about that brief but important period of childhood when heroism feels completely within reach. The costume may be homemade and the superpowers imaginary, but the courage, confidence, and possibility a child feels are very real.
