EXPLORE THE STUDIO

Inside Gregory Saint Amand's studio at Mana Contemporary, where paintings evolve through observation, experimentation, and layers of process.

A WORKING STUDIO

Gregory works from a private studio at Mana Contemporary in Jersey City, one of the country's leading centers for contemporary artists. The space serves as both workshop and laboratory—where ideas move from sketch to canvas through an evolving process of experimentation, revision, and discovery.

A BODY OF WORK

Gregory develops paintings in conversation with one another rather than in isolation. Living with multiple works in the studio allows recurring symbols, color, and narrative to evolve naturally across each series, creating visual connections that deepen over time.

PROCESS

Every painting begins without a fixed destination. Gregory approaches the canvas as a place for discovery, building each work through drawing, paint, spray, collage, and symbolic intervention. Layers are revised rather than erased, allowing every surface to retain a visible history of decisions, intuition, and time.
